Responsibilities

Lawrence C. Manson, Jr., is Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer for NexGen Capital Advisors, LLC, NexGen Capital Consultants, LLC and NexGen Capital Investors, LLC (collectively, NexGen Affiliates).  He is also the majority principal for NexGen Capital Partners, LLC, the parent of the NexGen Affiliates, and is responsible for leading all advisory, consulting and investment activities.

Experience

Mr. Manson has more than 27 years of middle-market private equity investment and corporate finance experience.  Over his career he has held numerous leadership roles with several middle-market private firms including Foundation Equity Investors, LLC, PENMAN Partners and Prudential-Bache Interfunding, an affiliate of the former Prudential-Bache Securities, Inc.  Additionally, Mr. Manson has served in a leadership role as Managing Director and Co-head of the Merchant Banking Group for Performance Trust Capital Partners, LLC, a niche broker/dealer catering to the needs of community financial institutions.

During his career, Mr. Manson has raised approximately $100 million of institutional capital for alternative investments, invested more than $530 million of equity or subordinated debt in leveraged buyout transactions, arranged debt financings in excess of $2 billion, closed more than 30 merger, acquisition or divestiture transactions, underwrote public equity offerings in excess of $250 million and managed directly or indirectly several hundred employees.

Education

Mr. Manson received an AB degree in economics from Princeton University and an MBA degree in finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Certifications

Mr. Manson is Series 24, 7, 79 and 66 licensed.

Civic Involvement

Mr. Manson serves on the Board of Trustees for Providence St. Mel, a private school in Chicago’s North Lawndale community of Garfield Park.
